Our Mission

At Bodies in Balance Physical Therapy our mission is to promote whole-body wellness by utilizing a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach. To do this, our experienced Physical Therapists are not only up-to-date on current research and PT techniques but also works alongside certified Massage Therapists and Pilates Instructors to facilitate efficient progress for injury rehabilitation.

Bodies in Balance PT does not utilize physical therapy aides or assistants in order to ensure the highest quality of PT care at each visit.

What happens in Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy specifically involves a combination of techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities (electrical stimulation, ultrasound, whirlpool, ice, heat, iontophoresis). Also involved in Physical Therapy is patient accountability and education regarding your health. Therefore all patients receive an individualized home exercise program to facilitate a faster recovery.

Initial Evaluation
You will start your first day in physical therapy with an initial evaluation. This involves you and the physical therapist discussing the reasons you are pursuing physical therapy. The PT will then check the area of complaint by examining your range of motion, strength and performing special tests to determine the integrity of your muscle system and joint function.

At the end of the initial evaluation your physical therapist will explain the findings and present a diagnosis as well as the treatment plan to improve your injury and get you back to 100% function. Every patient is different so treatment plans are unique to the individual and vary patient to patient.

Homework
At Bodies in Balance Physical Therapy your treatment does not end at the end of your treatment session. A large part in determining patient progress in physical therapy is compliance and participation in your individual home exercise program.

We expect our patients to take an active part in their healing by complying and participating in their home exercise program. You will be educated and empowered in order to recognizing your own responsibility for your own health and healing.

As an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) we strive to maintain a personalized relationship with commitment to represent the American Physical Therapy Association's Core Values: Accountability, Altruism, Compassion and Caring, Excellence, Integrity, Professional Duty and Social Responsibility.
